The Royal Hospital Chelsea Christmas Carol Service

David and Sandy spent a lovely evening with good friends last week, at The Royal Hospital Chelsea’s  Christmas Carol Service.  The service was held exclusively for Friends of the Hospital along with their guests, and took place in the Wren Chapel.  The evening boasted carols performed by The Chapel Choir of the Royal Hospital, readings and lessons and of course more carols for the congregation to join in.  The evening concluded perfectly with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies in the Great Hall.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea has offered care, comradeship and accommodation for retired soldiers for over 300 years.  Founded by King Charles II in 1692, the hospital continues to home The Chelsea Pensioners – Veterans of the British Army over the age of 65, who would otherwise have to spend their advanced years alone.
